Harrods uncovered an original mosaic floor in an old entrance that had been turned into a window many years ago.  We were asked to copy this mosaic from approximately 1905 and create a replica to be installed at both doors 7 and 8. After tracing what was left of the original the new design was hand drawn to allow the old design to fit within the new spaces.

Carrara Superior and Belgian black marble was sourced to match the original and the process of hand cutting over 500,000 tesserae began. Once the mosaic was completed in our workshop the mosaic was installed on site. This was a very complex installation due to the small space and access issues for all other trades on site.
